About Long Range Archery
Long Range Archery was started in the winter/ spring of 1997-98, in the pole building on the property of Steve and Kristie Long. Pro-Line archery was the first bow stocked and Cobra sights and Easton aluminum arrows made up the inventory. An outdoor 3-D range and indoor interactive system Techno-Hunt were the main attractions.
After coming to the lake shore from Northern Indiana, where I was introduced into the bow service industry, it was apparent there was an immediate need for technical expertise in the area. Our slogan of “we serve our customers needs, not our own” took hold and our service quickly became recognized, and our customer base grew rapidly.
In 2002 it became apparent that we needed to expand our lines and move away from our pole building. In July of 2002 we arranged to have a facility built on M-120 and experienced growth to multiple employees, kids leagues, and 7 days a week business. Inventory grew to many manufacturers being represented in the store, Techno-Hunt leagues expanded, clothing and boots became available, 5 bow lines and fishing and kayaks became standard.
Ryan Berghorst approached with an interest in 2009 to become a part of what was going on with his great interest in the industry. After a lengthy negotiation period, a deal was hammered out and we are now moved from the M-120 location north of Muskegon to our brand new Holland location.
Our employees have made the transition with us, we still hold the same values, and the same is still true, “we serve our customers needs, not our own”. And we still have the best archery product selection on the lake shore.
